My name is Angelo Von Willingh, I am 24 years old, and I live in Stellenbosch. I come from a very poor background, and after I finished school, I had to go to work in order to supplement our family income. It was very difficult to find a position where one could grow and which was rewarding and stable. Part of the reason was obviously because I did not have a decent academic background. I did some research, and found that at the University of the Western Cape, there were many students who were in the same position as me. I was very fortunate to get the opportunity to study and was even more fortunate to have received the USSAS bursary in the first year of my B.Comm degree.

This year, I am in my final year and it all would not have been possible if I did not receive the funding from Prof Wolff and all the sponsors of the USSAS Programme. My family and I would be forever grateful for the support and opportunity I received from USSAS.
