Although the grant awarded to me is insufficient it will somehow help me to pay a position of my tuition fees.

I managed to raise the initial installment of registration of R1400.00.  The grant awarded to me will be used towards reducing the balance.  Sine I almost afford to pay for my books fees.  I am going to take R500.00 from the grant towards the requisition of books, the balance of R500.00 will go towards tuition.  Since I cannot meet all my demands with the grant I am going to approach the administration for a loan so as to settle the full amount.

I am Hollingsworth Zulu, born on 10 July 1958 at Umsunsure Mission Station in the district of Mdwedwe I am from a family if six children and I am the fifth child.  There are four boys and two girls.  I grew up in a rural areas and the nearest town is Verulam, which is about 20 km, away.  I grew up a family of Christians and in turn I attended the local church from my childhood to adulthood.

In 1965 I joined the Ioeal School ? primary school.  I have never experienced any problems in any schooling, ??? completed my senior certificate in 1977 having not failed a class or even the mid-year exams.  This can further be proved in my university record.   I have never failed a class ? 1990 my first year of entry.  During my schooling career especially at secondary level I was involved with debating society and also quiz.  I was also involved in the local church choir.

I managed to complete my matric ? difficult situations because of financial constraints.  My father was getting a ? salary as a teacher and the sole breadwinner at home.  I was aware of the situation and concentrated on my studies.  After completing I was forced by circumstances to go and work because my father could not afford.  I found Kwazulu government in 1978 as a clerk in the Department of Justice and later in 1982 I was transferred to department of Finance.  In 1989 I got married and eventually resigned at the end of the year to further my studies holding a rank of a chief administration clerk.

In my family there are six children, four boys and two girls.  My father is a retired teacher.  He retired in 1988 and my mother is an ordinary housewife.  We are a family of Christians.  The two girls are now married.  My elder brother is married and he has five children.  Both he and his wife are employed by ? government as teachers, and all his children are fully grown up, the first daughter is at university.  My two other brothers are unemployed.

I am married and have three children.  My wife is employed as a teacher.  She is the sole breadwinner at home.  At present I have not a house of my own.  I am renting a four roomed house at Mpumalanga.  My wife is responsible for paying the rent.

My wife is employed as a teacher, in Kwazulu government service.  She is the sole breadwinner.  She earns about R1500.00 per month.  Her salary does not meet all our demands as I am unemployed.  We are paying R200 per month for rent.  In 1990 I managed to pay all my tuition fees and in 1991 I managed to pay the first installment and I applied for a loan to settle the balance.

At the present moment I cannot manage because I have got no other source of income.  My wife is also responsible for the upbringing of our three children.  The first one is attending school.  It is totally impossible for her to pay for my tuition.

In 1965 I joined my first school at Umsundize Primary School.   I completed my primary education in 1972 with a first-class ?  In 1973, I attended Mombika Secondary School and passed my junior certificate with a second class pass in 1975.  In 1976 I attended at Melhawe High School.  My subjects at matric level were the languages, biology, history, geography and business economics.  I passed my matric in 1977 with a second class pass.  Due to financial constraints I could not further my studies.  I then joined Kwa Zulu government as an administration clerk until 1989 and then I resigned and joined University of Durban-Westville.  I enrolled in the Faculty of Commerce and Administration for B. of Admin.

In 1990 I enrolled for Public Administration, Political Science, Industrial Psychology and English.  I passed all my first year classes.  In 1991 I enrolled for Public Administration, Political Science, Economics and Commercial and I passed them all.  At present I am doing Political Science III, Public Administration III, Economics II, and Commercial II.

I am involved with community development at Mduedwe.  The successful project that has been achieved is the ?????? community development negotiated eskom and it was successful. At present we are negotiating with ?? ???    The negotiation process is at an ??   I am a member of the United Congregation Church and now we are raising funds for the restoration of the church ?
