Neil Forbes

My name is Neil Forbes, I live in a suburb outside Cape Town. I am studying Pharmacy at the University of the Western Cape( UWC) and this will be my final year.
I live at home with my father, mother and younger sister. My father works at a local hospital, my mother is a house wife and my younger sister is also studying at the UWC, also studying Pharmacy. So I guess it runs in the family.
During and after grade 12, I never knew what I wanted to study. I eventually decided to study a degree in Pharmacy, and since then, never looked back.
I was concerned where I would find the money to pay my fees, but I trusted GOD to help me and proceeded to register. I had been fortunate to receive the USSAS bursary in my first year and managed to receive it every year thereafter. If it was not for this bursary, I would not be where I am today. For this reason I am very grateful to Professor Wolff for granting us an opportunity to achieve our goals.
I have never met such a generous man; that will give a bursary to a total stranger and not expect any repayment. His generosity has a ripple effect; it affects us (recipients) , our communities and the country as a whole. In other words, he and the donors, are investing in South Africa’s future.
The generosity shown by Professor Wolff, is not only appreciated by us, but also by our families. We are eternally grateful.
Neil H. Forbes
