South Africa Government Online

The South African Government Online currently includes a variety of information including links to web-sites of government departments, provinces and other government bodies, organizational information (mission, vision, functions, organizational structure, role-players, contact information), government documents and publications, speeches and press releases by government role-players, Government Tender Bulletin, National Symbols, provincial and local government information, and general information about South Africa.

Parliament of South Africa

Includes information about the two houses of the Parliament; The National Assembly and The National Council of Provinces (NCOP). The National Assembly is elected to represent the people and to ensure government by the people under the Constitution. It does this by choosing the President, providing a national forum for public debate of important issues, passing laws, and overseeing the executive. The NCOP is responsible for ensuring that provincial interests are taken into account in the national sphere of government. It does this mainly by participating in the national legislative process, and by providing a national forum for public debate of important issues affecting the provinces.

South African Government Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism

The department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism encompasses five different branches which include Environmental Quality and Protection, Marine and Coastal Management, Tourism, Biodiversity & Conservation, and the Chief Operations Officer. The mission of the department is to lead sustainable development of South Africa by creating conditions for sustainable tourism growth and development, promoting the sustainable development and conservation of our natural resources, protecting and improving the quality and safety of the environment, promoting a global sustainable development agenda, and transformation of the department, statutory bodies and economic sector for which the department is responsible.

South African Department of Foreign Affairs

South Africa’s Department of Foreign Affairs aims at promoting national interests and values, the African Renaissance and the creation of a better world for all. Its strategic goals and values include coordinating South Africa’s international relations while promoting its foreign policy objectives as well as promoting multilateralism to secure a rules based international system.
